At it’s most extreme, stress has been known to kill and cause debilitating illnesses. Here are three easy mediation techniques that you practice doing. You’ll know you’ve succeeded when you stay mentally alert yet calm while others around you are running around, screaming for help. Three Easy Mediation Techniques1. Yoga – yes, the reason why it’s gone mainstream is because it works. This method involves concentrating on inhaling and exhaling properly while holding certain poses. 2. Visualization – or directed mediation, is a technique where you may for instance, imagine yourself on raft, in the deep blue ocean or lying on the grass, watching the clouds chase after each other. One other variation on the visualizing involves you mentally rehearsing a future event that could be stressful and as you visualize you are performing well. 3. Deep breathing – This is by far the simplest to do. All it requires from you is that you concentrate on your breathing. You breathe through the nose, and let your stomach expand. Get into the habit of just holding your breath and then slowing exhaling, through your mouth. Use some thoughts to inspire you as you exhale and inhale, such concepts as be at peace, be calm, stay alert, or joyful. Try all these different relaxation techniques or stop at the one that you’ve found easy to do, and helps you relax the most. The method isn’t as important, as finding the one that will bring you inner peace.
